Zaneen dropped by to show us their expansive architectural and decorative lighting collection. Zaneen is based in Canada, repping and distributing European-based light fixtures to North America. In addition to their line of decorative fixtures, they have partnered with an Italian glassblowing and fabric company. They are modification friendly and happy to work with designers.
We saw a few fixtures manufactured by Prolicht in Austria, the Invader Series, Oiko, and Minimal Track.
Invader Series (tier one family of fixtures) is available in varying aperture sizes, fixture depths, and can accommodate different ceiling depths.

Invader Compacted recessed light fixture was impressive for its 2-1/16” recessing depth.
The tilt causes the fixture to poke below the ceiling plane on the adjustable version.
In the studio, we saw the 38-degree beam. There was a secondary beam cast by the field angle.
Oiko is the premium tier offering of downlights .
Three baffle options are available: Oiko Standard, Oiko Comfort, and Oiko Wide. Oiko Standard has no baffle, with the reflector running the full length to the ceiling trim, providing optimum light output. Oiko Comfort and Oiko Wide use the Visual Optimization Baffle, which helps to reduce glare.
The Oiko Pro Round has (4) “scoops” in the reflector that does cut the glare but can be visible from below when the lights are off.
The light distribution in this line was much cleaner and of high quality.
The Oiko Pro Wallwasher has a unique cast reflector that creates a clean and even light across the wall. This allows for O.C. spacing that is slightly further apart. 1:1.25.
Minimal Track, a 48V track system.
We were impressed with it’s tiny and sleek form factor.
It can be surface or pendant mounted. Many track inserts are available such as small punchy track heads, multi-cell linears, indirect light discs, and decorative pendants.
Tetra linear exterior linear grazer is manufactured by Platek in Italy.

Cosmos is an interior suspended fixture configured with linear wires and lamps throughout.
The fixture runs the electric current through the wired design and lamps throughout.
The fixture is available in either a rectangular shape or a crossing of wires to create a customizable profile.
