We looked at some of the new updates to the LUCENT Lighting fixtures

2" Plus Fixture: IC rated fixed downlight, offered with adjustable tray to access the terminal box (driver)

Mini wall-washer: 1.65” aperture - 1:1 spacing - Nice wash from the edge of the ceiling

absolutely favorite such beautiful from all the way from the edge of the ceiling to the floor and further

Micro Focus Accent Light: Great accent light specifically for millwork but remembering the thicker the millwork, less adjustability - Tunable Mini looked very bright and powerful.

  • CREE LED chips for the tunable white

  • Xicato is the standard LED chip

  • LUMENEDIX LED chip is used for RGBW

InGround 2.36" circular: walk over recessed uplight with 8°, 15°, 25°, 30°, & 10°x45° beams, fixed 7-degree tilt - Available accessories are elliptical beam effect, square beam, & honeycomb louver.

Monopoint option comes in recessed and surface mount - 94 CRI, 1800lm, four beams from 17 to 50 degrees - Accept x2 accessories.

Black with Copper finishes in the trim - we liked the copper finish.

Beautiful recessed wall fixture - We looked at InWall 50 Square with backbox - Great sharp distribution and clear cut-off line - If requested, they have a film to soften the distribution

Louis Poulsen was at the office today to show us some of their new products.

Cirque

This fixture is made from spun aluminum and comes in the following size options:

  • 7 inch

  • 10 inch

  • 15 inch

It is also available in many different finishes.

Above

The shade is made form spun aluminum. This fixture can have an opal shielding. It comes in many different finishes.

Slim

This fixture comes in the following size options:

  • 10 inch

  • 17 inch

  • 26 inch

The Slim is available in a variety of mounting options including: flush, pendant, and surface mounting.

Flindt Wall

This fixture is made from dies cast aluminum and comes in 2700K or 3000K. It comes in the following sizes:

  • 8 inch

  • 12 inch

  • 16 inch

Ripple

The Ripple is available in both 10 and 20 inches. The 10 inch fixtures is $350 DN and the 20 inch is $450 DN.

The color temperature standard is 3000K or 3500K but custom options are available.

Enigma

The largest size of this fixture is 35 inches and has 8 rings. The largest size is $2000 DN. The medium size of $550 DN, and the smallest size (shown) is $450 DN. The top of the rings are matte and the bottom of the rings are shiny.

Selux

Today Selux hosted a webinar to fill us in on some of their new products.

ELO Wood

  • Selux now works with Structura to create this wood fixture. This is a multi-layered wood that is treated and finished.

  • These products have a 50 year warranty above ground, and a 25 year warranty below ground. This warranty covers rotting, cracking, and finish fading.

  • It is a marine grade finish.

  • Everything is accessible from the bottom of the fixture.

  • Currently, the fixture comes with 3 rows of LEDs but can be customized to 2 rows if needed.

M36 Wall Washer

  • This is their new wall wash fixture. It is much more effective than using their A20 optic.

  • The bottom of the fixture protrudes just slightly.

  • It is suggested that it is 18” from the wall it is lighting, and 9” from any perpendicular wall.

  • This fixtures utilizes their M36 housing.

  • If this is turning a corner, the corners must be filled with blanks.

  • This fixture comes in a black of white finish.

3G

Today we attended a webinar from 3G since they are launching updates to quite a few of their product lines.

Downlights

Their 4.5'“ downlight now comes in a 10 degree beam spread

The 3.3” and 4.5” aperture downlights now have an 80 degree beam spread option

In addition, warm-dim and tunable white options will be coming soon for these fixtures.

Madison

  • Same notes as above

  • The 1, 2, ad 3 light configurations now come in pendant or surface mount options.



Cylinder

  • They now have a 7” tall fixed cylinder downlight

  • Both the 7” and 11” are also available as a double gimbal adjustable downlight. This is done by incorporating the Mini Madison.

Linia

  • All widths are now available in T-shape, X-shape, and custom configurations.

  • All widths also are offering asymmetric beam spread options in both the direct and indirect lenses. The indirect lens will also now have a wide spread optic option.

  • The Micro Madison can now be incorporated into the 3.5” width Linia product.

  • Tunable white option will be coming soon

Zoie

  • They now have a 4 square configuration

  • This fixture now comes in 8” and 12” pendants

  • A lensed wall wash is now available in this product line. This is available in 4, 8, and 12 cell segments.

  • This product can now do continuous runs in pendant, surface, and recessed mounting types.

A linear illuminated coffer fixture from the reflected light series with 3-3/8" square housing and 2" visibel illuminated aperture, snap-in system, max 1000lm/ft light output. It is available in warm dim and tunable white.

The Nippo

A semi-recessed surface mount fixture with integral driver (0-10V down to 1% dimming), 90 CRI.

Wedge BSS750

We have seen a new corner mount fixture with 2 illuminated surface, great for a staircase and perimeter lighting. The fixture has a 3"X3" housing, available in 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K.

From their BSW family, the exterior products with IP68, They have started The finish is powder coated with a printed image or pattern. The texture is available as an option. They offer 7+ years warranty for outdoor use.

This following is an up/down fixture with RGB as an option for uplight:

The corner mount fixture comes in up to max 8' section of lens as standard but can be ordered in 10' max a custom.

Wagner

Wagner is primarily a handrail company that supplies handrail lighting solutions. They do the full fabrication in house.

Today, they showed us the components of their Lumenrail system.

We first looked at the actual railings. The railings are made to be as seamless as possible, and the fixtures in the handrails are fully wet listed (it is not a LED tape).

This was the first fixture that we looked at. Matte and transparent lenses are available. Available in 2700K-5000K CCT. 5 beam spreads are available. This fixture is IP65 rated.

Lumenpod

The fixtures in Pod family are constructed to be vandal resistant. This fixture is IP67 rated. Available in 2700K-5000K CCT and 5 different beam spread.

The fixture with less curved form has an asymmetric distribution. It creates a clean line of cut-off on the back side.

The second fixture with more curvy look provides a symmetric distribution.

This is a nice walkway fixture. They will sell just the fixture for other applications. Available in 2700K-5000K CCT.

The 10° forward throw in the presented sample is the smallest the can get. It's a great option as a bollard lighting in ground.

  • Wagner will assist with layouts and meeting local code requirements. They are also releasing a design guide to simplify the specification process.

  • The Lights get attached to the rail on site.

  • The average price is $275/sqft for everything.

  • The Integral driver is a new option for rail lighting.

Cooledge

Today we had Cooledge visit the office. They brought samples of both their tile systems and a fabricated tunable white sample.

Tile System

There are 1' x 1' and 2' x 2' tiles. The tiles are constant voltage and cuttable in the field. The lines on the tiles are where they tiles can be cut. The circular marks are where the tiles can be screwed or stapled.

The tiles come in the CCT ranging from 22K-57K and are available in low, medium, and high output.

The tiles also come in dim-to warm and tunable white. The dim-to-warm goes from 35K-22K. The tunable ranges from 27K-57K.

Flush mount

A Flush Mount option is available and is better when a project requires larger use of the product.

Unlike similar products, with the flush mount, maintenance is easier because the fabric can be untucked to reveal the tiles and pushed back in with a spatula tool.

Fabricated Fixtures

Cooledge also has factory ready fabricated fixtures. They come in suspended, recessed, and surface mount options. They have standard sizes but can also accommodate some custom sizes. They have a 4" minimum standard depth. The fabricated fixtures only come in the medium and high output.

There is only 1 fabric option but it is possible to print designs on the fabric. Acoustic options are also available.

The lead time is quicker with the fabricated products but if maintenance needs to be done, a Cooledge installer will have to do it.

*All of these products work with Cooledge dimming.

Klik USA:

They stopped by our office today to present some of their products.

Click:

The handrail lighting with IP66 and IP65 (the larger version)

2 feet to 4 feet spacing between fixtures. They have 40 different types of clips.

The fixtures are connected to each other (parallel wiring) and run up to 300ft.

Max 40 fixtures can be on one driver.

POD fixture is suitable for Stair and Drywall

LED POD XL series is for guardrails.

  • The clips are replaced with small wings on sides.
  • Requires  Screwdriver for opening and closing
  • *They have a spa rated fixture
  • Flat and curved face portfolio
  • eyelid as an accessory

 

Black anodized finish

  • They offer 25 different micron finishing on a hard core anodize body. It is suitable in places exposed to salt water.

The new addition to this family is a minimal LED with oval distribution.

On linear products:

A new product comes out by June 2019. It is fully diffused. suitable for surface, recessed and pendant mounting.

This is a very slim, shallow profile, runs up to 30ft.

The fixture has high density LED strip

Node free LED.

A variety on bending angle and coating is available.

There is also another recessed version LED fixture, run to any length. It’s suitable for different shapes, corners, and crossing.

*They produce their own LED boards.

Wall-Grazing:

Up to 4500lm/m

Continuous run with 2” increment.

Surface, suspended, and pendant mounting

They have external housing for recessing.

  • We’ve seen hot spots on corners (ends) on this recessed fixture. They also don’t have a louver (considering offering it).

PreciseLED

PreciseLED is new to ELA. They are located on Long Island.  

ZENLITE

Zenlite is an in-wall product that goes over the joists and is in line with gypsum. The mudplate is made out of PVC. This is advantageous because the PVC doesn't retain heat. The fixture can be installed with or without the lens in. The lens is laser cut and pre-installed before shipping so on the site, they just need to peel off the protective tape. The LED strip is typically installed beforehand.

Available in 1" and 2" versions.

It costs around $48/ft (DN price).

  

ARC:

The curvable extrusion with a flexible lens. The 15°  radius is the tightest they can go. The curved product is edge-lit (2 LED strips facing each other) with a silicone lens.

Zenlight tile also exists. The lens is poured into place. You can walk or drive on the Zenlight tile fixture.

  

The maximum running length is 100ft.

It costs around $100/ft (DN price).

They also have an asymmetric Zenlite as well.

*the straight and the curve products are using different LED chips and won't be mixed.

DOWNLIGHTS:

The downlights available as trimmed and trimless with IC and Non-IC rated housings, 45° tilt and 360° rotation, and interchangeable lenses.

The Novation is their new 3" downlight/wallwasher . It has one of the shallowest air-tight housing on the market, 18" X 2.44", an interchangeable adjustable downlight and wallwasher lens. The housing has a unique copper piece which acts as a heatsink and therefore allows the housing to be this shallow.

  

*The shallow housing has only 30° tilt adjustment.

*They use CREE LED chip. The LED head is screwed-in and field replaceable (great for changing CCT).

*The trimmed fixture is shower rated.

They do not currently have a trimless option for millwork fixtures but they are currently working on it.

*They do have their own line of drivers but their products work with others as well.

Their wallwasher has an interesting lens design.

It's good to keep in mind, the piece with get really hard and make it difficult for on-site optic adjustment (there is a very tight space to access the clip for adjustments).

DIM TO WARM TAPE:

We also looked at their dim to warm tape. This tape has alternating chips to achieve the desired effect. All of PreciseLED's tapes are a minimum of 90 CRI.

 

UNDER CABINET FIXTURES:

They also have a line of interesting under cabinet fixtures called LUMAMATE.

The system has 90° vertical, 90° horizontal joint connector, motion sensor, on/off switch and dimmer switch all in on.

*The touch dimming, step dimming by tapping worked really smoothly.

They started with the larger size and have evolved to a smaller sized fixture with the same capabilities. The smaller fixture is not yet online or in the catalog but is coming soon.

  • Available in 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K.
  • Available in 90CRI (standard) and 95CRI.
  • 45° clip and flush clip are available for mounting.

Starting from their downlights, They have increased their lumens output from 400lm to 600lm.

*they are expecting to reach 700 delivered lumen by the end of the year.

  • The downlights require no equipment for interchanging optic and lens in the field.

On Cylinder Family:

The top part in older fix/adj downlight is reduced to 0.25" height, right beneath the J-box.

20° internal adjustability

The warm-dim has a nice, smooth dimming. It goes down to 0.01%, Bluetooth control.

The design is interesting. It allows the adjustment after the mudding from the behind to move the optic forward and back.
